Descriptive Writing

Learning Intentions:

• I am learning to describe a person or place or object using vivid factual language.
• I am learning to begin a description with a general introduction to orient the reader so they will know what or who I am describing.
• I am learning to group information into paragraphs or subheadings
• I am learning to use clear, accurate and vivid adjectives, similes or metaphors to paint a picture for the reader.
• I am learning to conclude my description with a general statement.

This week for writing we are going to focus on describing our national, native and iconic bird the KIWI.
